Radiator Fans keep your power sports engine at operating temperature. When your atv is in motion, the air passing through helps cool the radiator, but in situations where there is long idling, the fan substitutes the constant flow of air to prevent overheating. However, because the radiator fan is independent from the turning engine, sometimes these parts can fail, and a non-functioning or broken radiator cooling fan can ultimately lead to total engine failure once it seizes from heat damage.
The most common sign associated with a bad or failing radiator fan is an engine that runs hot or overheats. If you notice that your engine is running at higher temperatures than normal, that may be a sign that the relay is not functioning properly. A wiring problem such as blown fuse, loose or corroded connector could also cause your radiator fan not work.
If your Cooling Fan Blades are damaged or cracked, the fan would be ineffective in maintaining your engine's temperature.
Engine Starter Motor is a device used to rotate/crank an internal-combustion engine to initiate the engine's operation under its own power.
When your starter motor is going bad is a grinding noise. When the starter drive gear is worn out or not engaging properly, they will often produce a grinding noise. Other signs include, freewheeling, smoke, oil soak, or malfunctioning solenoid.
A Water Pump Gasket seals your water pump to the engine block.
Over time, the gasket can wear out, which can lead to coolant leaks which leaks at the front center of your Atv. You may also want to check other cooling components such as the radiator, water pump, and hoses to determine the source of the leak. Other signs of wear are that the water pump pulley becomes loose and making sounds, engine overheating and/or steam coming from radiator. Replacing the entire water pump is often necessary in putting a stop to the seal leak. Pour a liquid radiator/water pump stop-leak product, into your Atv radiator. The radiator is usually located in the front of the engine. Then replace the entire water pump.
Water Pump Impeller is a rotating component of a centrifugal pump which transfers energy from the motor that drives the pump to the fluid being pumped by accelerating the fluid outwards from the center of rotation.
If your impeller fails, the pump can't pump cool water to the engine causing your engine to overheat. The most common signs for impeller to fail are a gradual degradation in pump performance and flow. This is usually due to impeller or housing wear or impeller age. The second failure mode is sudden, catastrophic failure, with the impeller usually losing some or all its blades. This is usually caused by running the impeller pump dry.
