Atv Fuel System

Petcock is the fuel valve that allows you to turn on or shut off the flow of gasoline from your gas tank to your carburetor. It’s a small bolt right under the radiator.
The fuel flows from the tank into the float chamber through the needle valve. When the fuel rises to a specific level, the float rises. When the buoyancy of the float is balanced with the fuel pressure, the needle valve shuts off the fuel passage, thereby maintaining the fuel at the predetermined level.
Petcock O-Ring is used to keep fuel from leaking from the petcock mounting location.
Most common sign that the petcock is going bad is the fuel efficiency gets low, the gas on the Atv easily gets depleted. Also, there would be a distinct gas odor.
Leaks from the fuel petcock may lead to fuel overflowing the carburetor. This will cause to go into the cylinders. When it combines with oil, this can lead to a major problem. To fix the leaks, you would want to twist the washer under the face plate after disconnecting the petcock, this will create more pressure on the valve. As a result, this may stop fuel leaks. A washed-up fuel petcock deserves a better repair solution than this. Instead of replacing everything, you can just get a fuel petcock repair kit to replace the O-rings and diaphragms and rebuild the unit.
The repair kit includes O-rings and diaphragms. These pieces are designed to rebuild or restore the busted fuel petcock.
